The whole Wi-Fi 5 line went end of sale on the same day, then split into two support groups a year apart, and the vendor's own two documents disagree about which models sit in which. Below is every date, where the sources conflict, and the controller problem that catches almost every RUCKUS estate.
The thing to check first is not an access point, it is the controller. A ZoneDirector 1200 loses support on August 31, 2027. The R510s, T310s and H510s hanging off it are supported until December 31, 2028. The controller dies roughly sixteen months before the hardware it manages, and its last firmware ever was frozen on December 21, 2021. Read the AP date, plan for the controller date.
RUCKUS publishes a consolidated datelines PDF and a separate HTML end of life table, and the two do not always agree. Where they conflict, this page says so rather than picking one quietly. Dates verified against both vendor sources as of August 12, 2026.
One naming note: CommScope renamed itself Vistance Networks on January 14, 2026 after selling its cable business to Amphenol, and RUCKUS is now a Vistance business. The documentation portal moved from docs.commscope.com to docs.vistancenetworks.com. Both still resolve, and support.ruckuswireless.com is still live, so old bookmarks work.

The controller expires before the access points, and its firmware ceiling strands them first. ZoneDirector 1200 support ends August 31, 2027, sixteen months before the R510, R320, T310, T610, T710, H320 and H510 units it manages. SmartZone SZ100 is the same trap in a different shape: its software ceiling is SZ 6.1.x, so it can never run SZ 7.x, and therefore can never manage an R770, R670 or T670 no matter that its own support runs to December 2028. Buyers read the 2028 date on the access point, assume the whole system is good until then, and discover at refresh time that the controller was the constraint all along.
ZoneDirector is a dead platform, not just an end of life SKU. The ZD1200 was the last ZoneDirector RUCKUS will ever make. Software development ended December 21, 2021 at release 10.5.1, and there is no successor product. This is not a "wait for the next model" situation. The only forward paths are SmartZone SZ144, RUCKUS Unleashed, or RUCKUS One in the cloud, and each is a different management model rather than a like-for-like swap.
Software support ended years before hardware support does. Every Wi-Fi 5 access point stopped receiving software updates on December 31, 2023. The separate vulnerability and security support milestone passed on December 31, 2025. So the 2027 and 2028 dates in the table above buy you RMA and TAC only. No security fix has shipped for these units in over seven months, and none is coming. The last releases you will ever see are SZ 6.1.x, ZD 10.5.x and Unleashed 200.15.x.
Where RUCKUS contradicts itself, and what we did about it. Two vendor sources disagree on three models. For the R710, the October 2025 datelines PDF and the Wi-Fi 5 end of sale bulletin both say December 31, 2027, while the HTML end of life table says 2028; we used 2027 because two primary documents agree. For the H320 and H510 the conflict runs the other way, the HTML table says 2027 and the datelines PDF says 2028; we used 2028 because it matches the model list in the extension bulletin. The R500's end of sale is either October 31, 2018 or April 30, 2019 depending which page you open. If you are planning a budget against any of these three, get the date confirmed in writing rather than trusting either page.
The last day RUCKUS takes orders. Almost the whole Wi-Fi 5 line hit this on January 31, 2022. Note the last ship date is separate and later, which is why gear kept arriving into 2023.
The last day bug fixes ship. For the Wi-Fi 5 line this was December 31, 2023. Long past, and it is the date most people have never heard of.
The last day security fixes ship, separate from bug fixes and later. December 31, 2025 for the Wi-Fi 5 line. This is the compliance date, and it has already gone.
No TAC, no RMA, no help of any kind. The 2027 and 2028 dates in the table. By the time you get here you have already been without patches for four years.
Vulnerability support for the entire Wi-Fi 5 line ended December 31, 2025. Anything found since then stays open permanently, on hardware you are still allowed to raise a TAC case about until 2027 or 2028. Support does not mean patched.
PCI DSS 4.0, HIPAA security reviews and cyber insurance questionnaires all ask whether components are vendor-supported and patched. Those are two different questions here, and one of them already has a bad answer.
You cannot fix an ageing AP estate one unit at a time when the controller is capped at SZ 6.1.x or ZD 10.5.1. New access points will not join. The migration is all or nothing, which makes it a project rather than a purchase.
The ICX 7150 is three separate announcements, not one product line. The 24F, C08P and 24F-C08PT went end of sale February 7, 2022 with support to December 31, 2027. The 24, 24P, 48, 48P and 48PF went end of sale March 10, 2025 with support to March 10, 2030. The C10ZP, C12P and 48ZP went end of sale January 15, 2026 with support to January 15, 2031. Quoting "an ICX 7150" without the suffix can be off by more than three years. The ICX 7450 has the same problem in miniature: the base models run to November 2029, but the 32ZP variant has been unsupported since August 2023.
The T750 is half end of sale and the quote will not say so. Only the non-GPS SKUs, 901-T750-XX02 and 901-T750-XX52, went end of sale on April 28, 2023 with support to April 28, 2028. The GPS-equipped T750 is still an active product with no announced dates at all. Same model name on the datasheet, entirely different lifecycle. Check the SKU suffix.
The SZ 6.1 branch ends maintenance in December 2026, four months away. Every access point whose firmware ceiling is SZ 6.1.x, which is the whole Wi-Fi 5 line, plus the SZ100 controller appliance itself, loses controller-side software maintenance then. The hardware support dates of 2027 and 2028 keep running, but nothing new will be built for that branch. This is the date that turns a comfortable 2028 plan into a 2026 one.
One useful piece of good news. Upgrade licences for the ICX 7250, ICX 7150 and ICX 7650 remain purchasable after end of sale and right through to the end of support date. That is the vendor's stated position in each bulletin, so a port or feature licence on an end-of-sale switch is still obtainable. Support contracts are stricter: new support must be bought within six months of the last ship date, and no contract can end later than the last day of support.

This is your real deadline, whatever your access points say. ZD1200 support ends August 31, 2027, there is no successor ZoneDirector, and the last code shipped in 2021. Budget the controller migration first and let the AP refresh follow it.
Both expired earlier this year, March 31 and January 1 respectively. No TAC, no RMA. These are at the front of the queue and there is no argument for waiting.
Sixteen months to December 31, 2027, and no security patches since December 2025. Long enough to plan properly, short enough to belong in the next budget cycle rather than the one after.
You have until December 31, 2028, which is the most comfortable position in this table. Use the time on the controller rather than the radios, because that is what will actually gate your options.
Find the full SKU before you plan anything. The suffix can move the support date by more than three years in either direction, and two switches that look identical in the rack can be five years apart.
