FortiGate end-of-life & support dates

Find the deadline for your firewall, the last chance to extend its support, and what to check before a refresh. Start with the exact model: a suffix can change the date by years.

Verified September 16, 2026 · Fortinet hardware data updated September 15, 2026

FortiGate-60E support ends December 29, 2026. The standard 80E and 100E reached end of support on August 17, 2026. Their renewal deadlines have already passed. Check the table before treating a similarly named variant as the same appliance.

Dates below come from Fortinet’s Product Life Cycle table. Hardware lifecycle eligibility does not confirm that your individual appliance has an active support contract.

60E is not 60E-POE. 200F is not 200F-USG. FortiGate-60E-POE support runs to October 14, 2027, while the standard 60E ends in December 2026. FortiGate-200F-USG ends October 13, 2030; the standard 200F ends March 1, 2031. Match the full model on your asset record.

Three different deadlines

What Fortinet’s lifecycle dates mean

01 · EOO

End of order

The vendor’s final ordering date. A model can stop being sold years before its support ends. This is often what someone means when they say “end of sale.”

02 · LSED

Last service extension

The last date to extend an existing service contract. Start renewal planning before this date, and confirm the available term against your appliance’s serial number.

03 · EOS

End of support

The published hardware support endpoint. At Fortinet, EOS means end of support. Use the exact published date when planning a replacement.

For examples of the three milestones, see Fortinet’s 60E notice (PDF, mirrored by FortinetEOL) and 100F Gen2 notice (PDF, mirrored by FortinetEOL).

Check the software too

Hardware support and FortiOS have separate clocks.

A future hardware EOS date does not make every installed FortiOS version supportable. Check your software release, hardware compatibility and service entitlement together before choosing an upgrade path.

Fortinet documents exceptions for appliances constrained to a final supported firmware branch. It also describes extended software support through eligible FortiCare Elite coverage. Do not assume either exception applies to your device without checking the lifecycle notes and contract. Read Fortinet’s firmware and LTS guidance.

Before you replace a firewall

Inventory both HA members. Record the full SKU, serial number, FortiOS release and contract expiration for every site. Verify the dates in Fortinet’s portal and get renewal eligibility confirmed before the service-extension cutoff.

Size for the security features you use. Include inspected traffic, VPNs, SD-WAN, ports and high availability in the replacement plan. Reserve time to migrate policy, validate connectivity and test failover with a rollback plan.

Check the wider network. If the FortiGate also manages FortiSwitch or FortiAP equipment, review compatibility before changing the firewall or firmware. For a broader refresh, compare Fortinet alternatives and clarify which provider will own the firewall, security subscriptions, switching and Wi-Fi.

Common questions

FortiGate end-of-life questions

When does the FortiGate 60E reach end of support?

The standard FortiGate-60E reaches end of support on December 29, 2026. Its end-of-order date was December 29, 2021, and its last service-extension date was December 29, 2025. Variants such as 60E-POE have different dates.

Is the FortiGate 100E still supported?

The standard FortiGate-100E reached its hardware end-of-support date on August 17, 2026. The 100E-LENC and 100E-USG have later dates, so check the full SKU.

Does end of order mean I must replace the firewall immediately?

End of order and end of support are separate milestones. For example, FortiGate-100F reached end of order on April 16, 2026, with hardware support scheduled to end April 16, 2031. Your contract and FortiOS release also need to be supportable.

What if my model is missing from this table?

This page covers selected models. Search the full SKU in Fortinet’s Product Life Cycle table and check the relevant hardware and software notes. An omitted model is not a statement that it is current, unsupported or free of an announced deadline.

Does a supported FortiOS version extend the hardware deadline?

Do not treat a software support date as an extension of the appliance’s hardware lifecycle. Check both timelines and the service entitlement for your device. Fortinet publishes separate guidance for firmware exceptions and eligible extended software support.

Sources & scope

How we checked the dates

We checked these 20 exact hardware entries in Fortinet’s public Product Life Cycle table on September 16, 2026. The source displayed a hardware update date of September 15, 2026. Select Hardware & VM, search the full model and expand FortiGate to check an entry.

This is a selected reference for common branch and campus firewalls, not Fortinet’s complete catalog. FortiWiFi, FortiGate-VM and variants not explicitly listed need their own lookup. No dates are inferred from a generation letter or from a different model’s announcement.

The table is a dated snapshot, not a live feed. Fortinet may revise its schedule; its current publication and your service entitlement take precedence. See our editorial methodology.
