Juniper switch end-of-life & support dates

Mist compatibility does not extend a hardware deadline.

Juniper lists supported EX platforms in its Mist supported-hardware guide. Use it to check onboarding and software requirements alongside the lifecycle notice. A switch appearing in Mist’s compatibility list is not a promise of indefinite hardware support.

The newer EX notices also list a final software version: 25.4 for EX2300 and EX4300-48MP, and 21.4 for EX4300-32F and EX4600. These register entries are not patch recommendations. Confirm the appropriate maintenance release and upgrade path with Juniper for your model and deployment.

Build the refresh around the whole closet.

Inventory every member and module. Record switch SKUs, Virtual Chassis members, uplinks, optics, power supplies and installed Junos versions. For chassis systems, check the individual components as well as the system bundle.

Validate the replacement design. Compare PoE capacity, multigigabit access, uplink speeds, redundancy and management requirements. Budget for optics, licensing, installation and a tested migration window—not just the switch.

Decide who will operate it. Compare a Juniper refresh with a managed network proposal that clearly assigns monitoring, configuration changes, replacements and future refreshes. Start with our Juniper Mist overview or Juniper Mist alternatives.

We checked the EX Series Hardware Dates & Milestones register on September 16, 2026. It displayed a July 30, 2026 update date. Each table row links to the corresponding Juniper bulletin; some bulletin details may require a support login.

This page covers selected EX hardware SKUs, not every switch, module, bundle or accessory. QFX switches, SRX firewalls and Mist access points need separate lifecycle lookups. A missing row does not establish that a model has no announced deadline.
